Ewes and News!

Our sheep all have names!
Our white ewes are Kara, Arabella, and Piper!
Our black ewes are hermione and Ellie (Eleanor).
Ellie was named for her teddy bear-like face and, since Theodore Roosevelt's niece was Elanor, the name seemd fitting.
Now, Hermione is not as smart as her namesake, but she loves to eat plums, apples, and grain!
Piper is new here, she is Arabella's daughter and a real cutie! She is proving to be as tame as her mum and her aunt, Kara.
Arabella and Kara were bought together with her mum, Lightfoot, who died of old age when she was 12 years old. Thankfully, her memory lives on in both her daughters and in her son, who we sold as a weather to the new owner of Cedar, who we sold earlier this year. Kara is the tamer of the two, but that doesn't mean Arabella is too far off! Both have given us wonderful babies who we find homes for every year.

Now, you may be wondering why it is not called "Em's Farm". Why is is called "Em's Friend's Farm"? The simple reason is that it belongs to all of us, from the owls that have their young in your old oaks, to the squirrels and birds who nest in these same oaks, to the many other animals who inhabit our small property.
It is not called "Em's Farm" because I do not own it.
We all do.
